Wasyl Bodnar
ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland.
Graduated from the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Law of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He furthered his expertise in European integration at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations “Clingendael”.
Since 1998, he has served in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, rising through the ranks from Attaché to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine. He worked in the Ukrainian missions in Moscow, Warsaw, and Ankara, served as the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul, and from 2017 to 2021 held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Between 2021 to 2024, he served as the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey.
In November 2024, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland by Decree of the President of Ukraine.
Fluent in English and Polish.
Married and has three children.
